Leadership Committees:
FOCUS STATEMENTS
More Detailed: SERVE THE LORD DESCRIPTIONS and Information
Community Committee
Christ’s mandate to “make disciples” is the driving force behind the board of outreach. This board is responsible for making a connection with all who visit Peace In Christ. Other responsibilities include handling publicity, assimilating new members into the congregation, as well as coordinating inreach activities with existing members.
Discipleship Committee
Introducing our children to Jesus Christ is the main concern of the board of education. This board manages the entire Sunday School program and coordinates the efforts of teachers and volunteers. Organizing Vacation Bible School each summer is also a priority. The board of education also works closely with the board of elders and the director of youth ministry on various projects.
Elders Committee
The board of elders supervises the worship life of the congregation and oversees the ministries of the pastor and church staff. This group manages ushers, greeters, Sunday readers, sound technicians, altar guild, etc. The elders assist the pastor with various duties and are concerned with the needs of both pastor and staff.
Operations Committee
When the building and grounds of a Christian congregation are kept in good repair, it sends a message: This church really cares about Christ and serving Him. The board of trustees works hard to keep God’s house in good order. They oversee the entire physical plant of the church from stem to stern and the time and talents of members for cleaning and repair duties. The members of this board are proud of their church and it shows.
Pic Life
Responding to God’s love with the gifts of our time and talents and treasure sums up the ministry of the board of stewardship. This group manages the time and talents of God’s people by administering an annual time and talent inventory to all members. The board looks for unique ways to encourage proportionate giving as we return to the Lord a portion of His gifts to us. Look for this board to become more active in the area of social ministry in the future.
